    Hello guys,

I would like to change the coolant of my 1999, 550 maranello. Is there a drain plug at the bottom of radiator, and is there a drain plug at the side of the engine one on each side (like American made engines) to drain the coolant from the engine block. At last where are those engine drain plugs located on the engine. I would appriciate the advise.

    Thanks again for tips.

    Der sark.

    Hello,

Maranello 550. I need to change thermostat and first drain coolant in radiator. Don't have lift, does anybody know where the radiator drain plug is and if the bottom engine/chassis plastic cover needs to be removed?

    Thanks,
    John

You should drain both the radiator and engine block. Both require removal of belly pan. Radiator plug is on left side of the bottom tank on the lower or rear surface depending on year.

Engine block drains are brass hex plugs on each side of the block. Be advised, they are difficult to access and remove (even from underneath with all of the plastic removed) and easy to round off the corners.
