    Hi all,

I plan to change the yellow stock fender shields on my new California T into the carbon fender shields. Unfortunately they are screwed from the backside. So my question to the experts is, if there is any possibility to change the shields without dismounting half of the car ?! Perhaps there is a chance from the engine room to reach the screws? Thank you for your tips.

    regards Holger

I suspect the normal route would be to dismount the wheels and then remove the wheel well covers in order to reach the back of the shields. This task should be straightforward for a dealer to perform (make sure they don't bump the brake calipers when they dismount/remount the wheels).

I think the engine compartment is likely too crowded. Can you ask the people who supply the shields for their experience on the matter?

^^^ correct. It's relatively easy and straightforward to do. I'm unsure how long it might take, worst case 2 labor hours, a couple hundred $ plus the parts. Wheels off, wheel housings out, reach back in there....

I'd love to see before/after pics of the two shields on your Cali. What color is your Cali, Holger?

Its a California T HS and the colour is nero daytona with brake calipers in silver, Novitec wheels and carbon wheel hub caps. Thats why I think about changing the fender shields and the front badge into carbon. Wonder how it will look.

From the sounds of it, sounds like it'd be great. This 458 is black and has black shields. There's not a great pic of the shields but maybe it'll give you a useful visualization.

Very nice indeed. Coincidentally, I recently saw a black Cali (Cali 30) with carbon shields at Boardwalk here in Dallas, and it looked very sharp. Y'all are making me wonder how carbon fiber shields would look with an avorio exterior!
