I have read many posts on here about changing the gearbox oil and have used Redline 75W90NS as so many of you have recommended. When I read through my workshop manual it mentions that after changing the gearbox oil, to add 100 gr. of oil into the clutch bell cover. A diagram details the plug to remove and fill through. Has anyone done this? What purpose does it serve? Is there a danger of leaking onto the clutch itself? Has anybody any thoughts or experience?

The oil is for the drop down gears which are sealed off from the bellhousing and therefore will not reach the clutch (if the related seals/bearings are in good shape). One caution. Remove the filler plug BEFORE you remove the drain plug. More than one person drained the oil only find out they can not break open the filler plug.
