Hi all, I just received new hood dampers. I did the same thing to my SLK last summer and remember that removal was very easy, but it was very difficult to get the new one back on. It looked like they were 1/2 cm longer than the old ones. Obviously that was not the case. Keeping the dampers pressed together in advance using a tensioned iron wire is not an option because then you will no longer be able to get them into the mounting bracket. Many must have preceded me in this repair, so tips are more than welcome. Thank you in advance
oK, problem solved. Examend the the gas springs and those ones can be adjusted with was not the case withe the SLK ones and so it was a 5 minute job at a cost of 19 € for 2 springs.
