    Trip to Le Mans this year slightly marred by the fact the Mondi had to be trailored back to the UK. On the way down from Calais the battery was over charging and venting into the free space behind radiator, luckily no damage done.

    Could someone confirm what voltage I should measure at the battery terminals?
    To my mind whether a battery is fully or partially charged, full load Vs no load (i.e. all lights blazing) I should not expect more that 13.5v across the terminals. On the way to Le Mans I measured 15.7v @ 1000rpm.

    I've whipped the alternator out & returned it to the motor factors who overhaued it 2 months ago, they checked it out & said it was OK BUT would send it away to be rewound etc... A little odd!! This was after I told them the new battery was histroy too. LOL.
