You have to understand that with social networks some believe they are no more boundaries or limits between people.
They are just uneducated and impolite peoples.
On the other hand drivers like Charles should be more cautious with what they are posting on the net..

It's funny because the internet is supposed to give the masses access to information to educate themselves, yet as a collective I've found people get dumber by the day. Common sense has left us.

Yes he is the one I cheer for on race days BUT he should never have posted the video of his piano being craned up to is apartment; that was naive as it made the location far too easy to identify.

    This.
They shared their private life on internet.
    They introduced politics into sport.
    This is not for free.
They have to pay a price for being idiots.

I agree that it wasn't a bright move to show a video like that...but I guess growing up/living in Monaco did give him a sense of ''nothing like that will happen here'', and I can't recall of any driver/sportsman having such issues in Monaco (or even Switzerland). I guess with the newest breed of fans privacy is a word that doesn't come up in their vocabulary nor is common sense.

A sad state of affairs, really.

Same for Max you could work out from his IG balcony photos which apartment building he is in in Fontvieille (western end of Monaco) but somehow no rude fans have done that...yet.

One day Lewis will wake up and have the following thought in his head: "I don't want to do this anymore". And that is when he will quit.

I had the same conversation with Price Cobb when he worked at my Ferrari mechanic's shop. (About 5-odd years ago).

Silly fashion, let's start a fundraiser to buy him a belt, I thought he was paid enough not to wander in pajamas, specially if Prince Albert is present :D

I am thoroughly amused that a RACE CAR DRIVER is writing and playing his own music and beating modern "musicians" at their own game.

I have the strange feeling that the Charles Leclerc 2023 is the same compared with 2019 when he arrived at Ferrari.
    Tremendous speed on one lap.
Sometimes seems lost and has no real explanation after a race.
    Poor rain skills.
Looks like he didn’t really improve his tyre understanding either..
    Your thoughts ?

It's really hard to figure out what's going on with Charles. Is he struggling with the car? Are emotions getting to him (last years mistakes, set backs, constant speculation on him staying at Ferrari, Ferrari's state in general)?
    Who knows.

I've no idea what the atmosphere is like within Ferrari at the moment but I can't imagine it's very good (not towards Charles, but the state of the team itself).

Realistically speaking since Enzo's death Ferrari has only enjoyed 1 timeframe when it was genuinely strong: The Schumacher years and a small trickle down of that with Kimi for 2007. Ferrari needs a driver like Schumacher to motivate, not just mentally and physically the team, but also his actions on track. Alonso, realistically speaking, was *almost* the right guy for this, but realistically speaking it was too early in his career. He didn't have the maturity then that he has now. It's not a quick progress but even today he'd be a good fit in the team.

Vettel didn't have it either. Leadership and technical detail came naturally to Schumacher. Vettel tried to emulate it but couldn't always back it up on track and he worked the technical department to death with his debriefs. He's absolutely famous for that. First to arrive last to leave...but time spend with the team isn't just showing to put the time in either. These guys need their rest, too (Especially now with much longer seasons), and again, if the driver that works these guys to death isn't capable of being near faultless, relentless himself on track...that motivation quickly turns to frustration as well.

Leclerc is a great guy but like you say he does make his mistakes. He's well loved within the team but in the paddock you can see he has his moods which surely affect the team.

I may sound like a broken record but the closest thing anyone will get to Michael Schumacher is Max Verstappen:
    Probably even more naturally talented.
Gets along great with his team...Michael was known to know everyone within the team, but from what I hear from so many RB mechanics (current or ex), it's very much the same.
His technical debriefs are apparently fantastic and barely last long enough for everyone to sit down.
Makes his mistakes (like anyone), but backs them up normally in the same race by recovering to the same position most of the time, lol.

Will Max challenge for a title in todays car? No. Well. I say that, but if Max was in the Ferrari today...he wouldn't be in the RB so...yes? Both current Ferrari drivers give perez a regular run for his money in 2023 so why not Max. But realistically, for a long term future, Max would absolutely be the best guy to have right now. And I'm sure he'd bring some people with him, too. Horner, Hannah, his own engineer...probably not Newey as I'm not sure if he wants to restart another career though it would be an amazing close, so perhaps could be persuaded. All would achieve beyond legendary status turning the team around.

It's likely that Charles doesn't have the correct support team around him in order to fulfill his true potential.

I really like Leclerc, I've met him and he is a very nice guy. I think however he is not champion material and the time is running out. I think as a driver he is up there, but makes way too many mistakes ... and get too emotional. needs better mind management. I do think its 60% Ferrari problems, and 30% him... 10% luck.... the car is clearly not good.

To your point about Schumacher, He certainly contributed to the Ferrari domination of the 2000's but it was not all him. Ferrari had several key parts in place then that they do not have now.

Luca di Montezemolo - clear de facto leader, who was able to dictate what would happen. Ferrari does not have that today.

Jean Todt - he shielded the team from the press. he also was able to deal with the Italian press, and politics. - they have nobody like that today.

Ross Brawn - quiet genius, and able to work with Rory Byrne and team to get a consistent car and team work.

Schumacher was able to work un fettered with these folks, and combined with his confidence it worked.

Verstappen would have the same results as Leclerc at Ferrari... at Red Bull, Verstappen has a support team, Horner, Newy, and Marko... they pave the way for him... Nobody at Ferrari is doing that for Leclerc, nor did they for Vettel. Alonso could not deal with it either... and that is what shattered the team.
