I was wondering who people recommend for paint jobs/body work in the Charleston, SC area. I have a keying that I need to get a quote for. Thanks, -Pete
We've always used ProTek and been very happy with them. They've probably done a dozen cars for us between our personal cars and company vehicles and the work has been excellent. Pro Tek Auto Refinishing 7159 Bryhawke Circle North Charleston, SC 29405 843-554-1426 Tell them the Carolina Sound people referred you.
Plenty of people...but they didnt do it! hahaha It actually happened back up in MD and I have somebody interested so I need to get a quote and drop the price by that or get it fixed depending on how the deal goes. Note: Do not take any nice cars to movie theaters, I think that my incident is not uncommon in that environment. Also Im no longer a beach bum, Im unfortunately gainfully employed with benefitfocus.com located in Mt. Pleasant. Ok it is nice to not have to continue to drain savings.
Whats entailed in your new job? Is it remotely similar to what you were looking for or is it more just to hold you over until you get your thing set up?
You will not find a shop in this area that does better paint and body work than Jamison Custom Corvette. They do not work on only Corvettes but that is their main area. He restores cars as well. If you pay them a visit only speak with Mr. Jamison. His son and daughter work there too. They do not do a high volume of business and often times you have to wait for him to be able to work on your car. He is also way more expensive than a regular body shop but the quality of work he turns out is really really exceptional. I've seen him work on metal with a torch, ball peen hammer and dolly to shape metal. I have an older Mercedes I wanted them to paint but they were real nice about it and told me that would not be interested in doing the job. That car was just not a nice enough car that they were interested in working on. I've still not gotten it repainted. I am not affiliated with them. I will be working for BenefitFocus.com as a troubleshooter and both myself and the company want to quickly move me into a java developer's position. I am still pursuing my dream of building my own company. I just need to get all the pieces put together and that will take some time, and my savings cant cover business start-up costs and living expenses. But its a very cool company and who knows once they re-release there internal stock option package I may push hard and see this challenge through.
