    Hi everyone,

I'm Joseph, checking in from South Florida, and as an attendee to some of the Ferrari events hosted by the FCOA, over at Moroso Motorsports Park, Homestead, and a few others... I know the distance allot of us have travelled to attend these events and the accommodations we have grown accustomed to. Heck, I'm sure there will be some familiar faces at the Palm Beach Super Car Weekend that's coming up.

Prior to making any posts about the services that could be offered, I double checked with Rob to make sure I would not be stepping on any toes.

A good friend of mine owns an on demand, private aircraft charter called Halcyon Jets (http://www.halcyonjets.com/), and we have helped transport the most exacting of clients countless times. I flew with one of their agents called Michelle out of the Boca Raton office, and she did a great job setting up the flight, introducing me to the crew, and feeling right at home. Her email is [email protected].

I had to get over to Naples so they set us up on a Hawker 700XP, only took about a half hour to cross Florida, and you can't beat parking in the hanger! Helps keep our treasures nice and safe.

I'm sure a few of you have flown with Net Jets and others... one of my favorite parts about Halcyon is that they don't require fractional ownership like other companies... with Halcyon you just pay by the flight.

I know there are a few events coming up and wanted to make sure you guys knew about this alternative should you need to travel.

    Best regards and happy redlining!!

    Joseph

I don't know anything about your friend's company, but generally the South Florida aircraft charter world is a cesspool. Many, many shady, unsafe operators there. I see that your friend is just a broker.

At least they tout Wyvern-- in South Florida, insist on a Wyvern qualified operator, crew, and aircraft (all three-- it's possible for an operator to be "Wyvern certified" yet a particular crew combination may not in fact meet Wyvern requirements). Look for ARG/US Gold as well. None of the certifications really mean all that much, but at least the operator had to spend some money on training and compliance-- usually a good sign.

Better yet, go with a reputable national operator like NetJets, where you will be assured of a consistent, legal approach to crews, training, and maintenance.

Don, thanks for taking the time to reply and read the thread. :)

You're absolutely right, one must be very exacting in their requirements when they fly privately. For myself, my family, and friends safety is always our number one concern and I wouldn't endorse a company that views safety as anything less.
