If anyone is in the mood for a mystery...

I came across this photo of the Sutton/Mistral re-bodied Chassis 0362 that was entered but did not compete in the 1964 Riverside 200. It was entered by Robert R. Stevens (a barrister if the sign writing on the car can be believed) and was supposed to be driven by Venezuelan Otto Becker.

I have found that a Robert Stevens was apparently also involved in the building of the Apollo cars with a company called Apollo International Company of Pasadena, California and that Otto Becker was the foreman of that operation.

From the photo it looks to be the same body that was used during the latter years of Frank Arciero's ownership but re-painted in gold by the time of the 1964 Riverside event. When the car was offered by Mecum Auctions at Monterey in 2014, their history says that it was sold to Ron Kellogg and then painted gold, but in 1965.

I believe this is the same Ron Kellogg who has been involved with many Ferraris from that era as well as being the owner of the now defunct kelloggphotoarchives website.

So with all these connections involving Mr. Kellogg and Mr. Stevens, I am curious if there are any other photos of 0362 in its gold paint scheme? Does anyone have a way to contact either or both of these gentlemen to determine more information?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Marcel-

thank you for the information...it sheds some light on a strange/unique time frame for an iconic racing car. I'm always in awe of the range of your data and documentation.

Do you know any way to find out more about 0362's racing history during the period from 1964 Riverside 200 through the time when Ron Kellogg sold the car in 1968/1969 to Betz and Peters?

I had corresponded with Mr. Kellogg back when his photo archive website was active but I now have no way to reach out to him, so I have no way to reach out to him.

I also would like to know if any F-chatter might have a way to contact Richard Stevens and Otto Becker to get their insight into this period of 362's racing history.

    Tom
