Hi all, Question regarding the chasis number as I have techical info (workshop) for a 599 but figured here someone should know this as might apply as well for the Ferrari V8 vin sequence. The document state some fluids has to be used after certain chasis numbers, the document shows 5 digit but the chasis number in the other pocs shows 6 digit. I’m guessing this chassis number is a “before” of the 87867 as stated but I really need to be sure to not mix up things. Sam goes for the ATF vs Pentosin for the power steering fluid as it state from 97930 use Pentosin. Anyone can decode this? Thanks Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
There is something strange or you misunderstood something. Chassis nr at around 90.000 is around the beginning/middle of the 90's. My 99 Maranello has 114809 Daniel
Ah, they mean assembly nr. Lokk in the front of the engine bay of your car. There is the assembly nr on a sticker or plate. Daniel
Daniel- Affirmative, Assembly Number. Ferrari parts catalogs often show changes in part numbers at an AN instead of SN or model year (US). For some, you can find changes by Assembly Number, Engine Number, Transaxle Number, and Serial Number, depending on the whims of the catalog editor.
Daniel, The pictures attached in my first post, did you see it? If so, the plaque/plate chassis number is the actual 599 I'm doing the service , hence my confusion as what to use , in other words if this car is a BEFORE or AFTER from the workshop manual states for different fluids. If it matters, the tittle of the car record as engine number "129090" which, again, is a 6 digit number unlike the workshop manual with 5 digit. Again, I'm still confused :/
Read the owners manual - look at the early page (p17 plate A) which shows markings - that will tell you where the plate for the assembly number is to be found There is nothing in your first post to help identify the car's assembly number
Thanks, took a read at the owner's manual but coulnd't find the info. However I found the metal plate while the front plastic engine cover was removed and it's a BEFORE assembly "76139" Thanks for the tips/help!
Wrong from me was "in front of the engine bay". I was at my 550, where the plate is in the front. Sorry for my wrong description. Can't remember where the plate with the ass.nr. is a the 599. Daniel
And according to my records # 158896 is in Peru which makes it very rare in that country. Am I right ??
You are right. How do you know? Also this is a Novitec twin supercharged built and massive rear tires: Here are 03 other 599 in Peru which we already fixed the sticky interior among other fixes. ZFF60FCA7A0170439 HGTE (US spec) ZFFFF60L980157643 Regular Fiorano ZFFFF60L0B0186861 Alonso Edition
I am chasing 599s all over the world ! and I already got these four but I have a fifth one, no VIN, Color "Guinda", not sure it is existing or "guinda" is equivalent to Rosso Mugello #158896 ?
Here's the assembly number #83450 of my (former) 599 GTB chassis number #166676. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login
Bet everything ever is on online somewhere or in books somewhere. Therefor, no reasons why to ever ask questions, sit in class, have conversations, etc. Also, past threads were not clear. My intention is laying our clear answers for future people. I intend to summarize the whole process for future 599 people since not a lot of DIY stuff for 599s. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Why even bother trolling if you’re time is too valuable to answer basic questions? Seems a bit counterintuitive. Just ignore it and move on. No reason to contribute negativity. FYI, I don’t have an owners manual with me and another member sent me the complete manual last night which I’ll be reading. However, I fully intend on asking people on fchat. To me, fchat is a community aid device for DIY’s. To you, it’s different, so just don’t respond if you don’t want to. Nearly any question ever can be answered with “look it up” in year 2022. Some people enjoy answering questions, even if they have 100 times before. I’m like that. I like helping people. You’re apparently not, so just don’t respond. Simple as that.
