Thought I'd post by opinions of a trip this past weekend to Chateau Elan in Braselton, GA...

My wife and I drove from the Knoxville, TN area down TN-68 and US-129 this past Friday. We spent two night at the resort. If you don't know its ran by Don Panoz, the owner of Road Atlanta and the Panoz cars, which are basically next door. The resort has a spa, winery, tennis, golf, etc.

We were really impressed with our experience. My wife enjoyed the winery and I enjoyed getting away from my kids, er, getting away for a couple of days. The wine appears to be mostly made of contracted grapes from off the property. We did enjoy the Founders Reserve Chardonnay the most (sorry to you ABC guys). I wasn't impressed with any of the reds, and I'm a bordeaux and Cali red fan.

We did make it to Road Atlanta Sat morning, which is about 4-5 miles away and watched the PCA run a bit.

The food was great and we found the trip a lot of fun. The drive there (in a Boxster rather than our 308, was also enjoyable through the mountains.)

Here's a pic of the winery...

Yes, that's a beautiful place, thanks for the review.

I wonder if I can plan the honeymoon around an event at Road Atlanta ;)
