Cheap Denso alternator ?

Is it just me or does this look like an exact replacement for the 120A Denso alternator in the 348 ???

Have been having probs with my alternator again (fried 2 regulators after about 1 mins of running each time!) so am looking for a replacement. Have checked all the earths and even have 2 custom earth straps directly from the alternator to the chasis so its not that! Also using the uprated regulators recommended on this site so I fear something is up withe the internals.

Does anyone know the exact Denso part number just out of interest ? The one on my unit is 101211 - 5070 but I cant find it anywhere on the net?!?!

I've now been in discussion with a very helpful chap who's going to sell me the above Jag alternator for circa £130 new to try out. He's run it past his technical department who reckon it should work so I'll let you know how it goes! Will be dispatched tomorrow so should get it Thurday and will report on the results! If it works then at least we know of a compatible Denso unit for $200 if we ever need to replace it!

120 amps, from what I can tell on the 348 there have been 2 Denso units a 105 Amp and a 120 Amp. Think the 355 is 140 Amps but there might be a later higher capacity unit, pretty sure I've seen something that would work for that too however....
