At a local car dealer there is a 2005 SLR McLaren with only around 6k miles on it. Is this a bargain or is it just me?

    ^ ^ ^---------------- See above.

How can you ask whether something's a bargain, without providing a price or a link? It doesn't seem to be at Copley Motorcars, so you'll have to be more informative.

Anyway, if i were to take your question merely at face value, then yes, first-year SLRs can be had for very good money versus their relative initial MSRPs. Naples Motorsports has a cherry 900-mile example, asking 230k. So you know it'll sell for low 200s.

BTW, Will, just to add a little fuel to Dr.S's citations, this is the only 2005 6-k mile SLR on the market

And guess what? It's in Boston, not far from Copley Motorcars. But you say you're out in California. Your profile is starting to resemble Swiss cheese.

When does school resume in Southie?

I already adressed everything in the other thread. Yes, I just noticed I forgot the asking price, its around $209,000. My bad. And not its not really a local dealer, it's in boston.

No, you did *not* just say that!

Look, I've basically promised to not say much of anything about Naples MS, but...I can say that they do *not* negotiate on price. I've been down that road with them. They don't budge. Their auction cars are God's gift, and Buyers should bow and consider themselves *lucky* if Naples deems to sell one to you.

No. I know gay hairdressers, and that's not their car...that car is *way* beyond mere gayness and hairdressing and into the realm of garrish pederasty.

+1 I had the same experience. Fortunately for me I am glad they turned down my offer because the car I bought was better in everyway.

There's an ongoing auction for a rebuilt title SLR on copart... they can't sell it for a reason i ignore. 3 auctions in a row the price didn't go above 100k. Now THAT'S a bargain!
