Cheapest G in the market!

Something about the "...more" always worries me about a car.

 

the mileage affected the price.sems like an average price imo

 

It is the cheapest G I have seen as well but with '06's dipping into the $150's $20k/year seems close for annual depreciation....LoH has a 2006 SE with 9200 miles for $155k and several 1500(ish)mile '06 cars have sold for $160k-$165k...Dealers are having a hard time selling left over '07 and '08 cars too, I have seen some for up to $20k off msrp.

 

This Gallardo is very very cheap, and if it hasn't story behind, it is a great buyers oportunity. For example here is the pretty much the same 2005 Gallardo with 35 000 km / 21875 miles on the ODO, price is 118.500€ / 174 000 $ in Germany. This is the same shop where I bought two of my cars and they say they can't lower the price for me more then 1500€. So that should say that demand for these cars in Europe is higher then in US, but I still think that more of these are sold in the US. So if you are eager to buy a Lambo or ever wanted one, this is the closest you will get to owning one.

You will start to see a lot of the early G's appoach the 100k mark soon, large supply and the financial markets in turmoil are the culprit.

 

100 k for a clean g would be a steal

 

Trading it in for a Viper????? BOOOOOOO!!!!!!

 

That one is cheap because:
A. it has very high mileage
B. It's a manual

I'm not trying to re-start the endless debate of e-gear vs. manual, but the fact is, and you can ask any Lambo dealer about this, e-gear sells easier than manual as well as being worth more, partly becuase it's a $10k option...

 

Steer clear.

 

What are those reasons?

 

IMO, if you're going to put the evil eye on a car, you need to let us know why.

What is the rest of the story? What other things do you know of that should steer us clear of this car?

 

Other than the mileage and manual, maybe the other reasons why it is cheaper is because of the early manufacturing date for the 2004 (low VIN). It is also not the Pearl Yellow color. It is the flat yellow. I think the Pearl is more popular.

 

You guys just need to accept the fact that these cars are a rapidly depreciating asset. Every time one finds it's way to the market for a more reasonable price people start bashing it. Fact is, there are a lot of these cars on the market, they have not even come close to find a base. Big supply, depreciating markets (Financial/real estate), and the fact that the G has no collectable value, makes it like any other high end luxury car. I can see why people don't want to accept the fact that a car they own is getting worth less every day, but thats life, you buy them as a luxury item, AND THEY ARE FUN TO DRIVE !

 

By march of 08 or sooner, my prediction is you can buy a 04 Gallardo for the same money (if not cheaper) than you can buy a 91 clean/no history Diablo....It further validates the widely known inverted value curve of mass production vs. limited production cars. The same reason today, you can buy an 03 Murcie cheaper than a clean/desirable color 01 Diablo 6.0

I agree with Tom. Heck, I've seen people ask that kind of money for clean 91 Diablo's already--forget about next year.
I recently had a PPI done on a fellow F Chatter's '04 Orange Gallardo over the summer--it checked out fine but I balked on the deal at 148k--instead I bought a Diablo SV. In retrospect, I'm glad I did b/c the Diablo has been very reliable and driveable--and I haven't lost the 20 grand. This is just my logic--it's not meant to offend anyone w/ a Gallardo as I think they're great cars--I'm just too cheap to stomach the continuing depreciation hit.
I also agree w/ some of the others, however, that the above car seems like a great deal (relative to the others on the market) if it checks out. I personally think the early 6 speeds are worth more--it will be interesting to see where these cars settle in terms of price...$100k? $80K? If they do get that cheap, I'll be back in the market for one!

In all reality, this is not a Lamborghini, it is an Audi........A very nice looking Audi, but will never carry the heritage or persona that a Countach or Diablo do. As time goes buy, as stated by others , Gallardo's will be worth much less than Diablo's and Countach's.

 

And, the engine bay has been steam cleaned. It must have been a mess !
I guess it's a fact of life that most people can't drive a fully manual transmission anymore.

 

Has nothing to do with who makes the car or heritage. It's simple Supply and Demand 101.
