Ok you experts out there. Whadda ya think?
I think it has to be a micro switch or something else.
Sometimes it is intermittent and sometimes it just stays on for a long time and then goes out.
The engine runs fabulous and very cool. RPM steady at idle 1000.
I recall on my old 308, the thing got hot very quickly but this 348 seems to run really very cool and I am glad that is the case.[ althouth OAT is very mild today] Richard assured me that it is a light thing and nothing to worry about

Nevertheless, taking it in tomorrow to Norwood's for a few days to review the whole car plus to fix up some small detail that it needs. Otherwise it is inmaculate.
What a bullet!! I doubt sincerely that it is a catalytic converter since it is just the 1-4 light that comes on. It reminds me a lot of the caution nuisance warnings in the glass cockpit jets. MEL it and it is OK till they can replace the micro switch or whatever it is.
Would appreciate, opinions, guesses whatever. Many thanks in advance.

    Good idea Bob!!
    Thanks.
I think it is a temp sensor somewhere.
But being a rookie I will defer to the experts.
    Thanks again.

    Manny -

Is it a CEL or a Slow Down light? Vastly different possible fixes.

If it's a Slow Down light, swap the Cat ECU's from side to side and see if the problem moves to back 5/8. You might also want to use some contact cleaner and/or Stabilant on the connections. The ECU's have a crappy silicone seal, and if any moisture gets in there, it'll start to go nuts.

If it's a Check Engine light, pull all the connections around the coil and use a contact cleaner/Stabilant to see if you can get it resolved. Pulling the codes from the main ECU's would be helpful too. I recently had a CEL issue, and contact cleaner/Stabilant resolved it.

    HTH.
