Help needed to find the kind of light bulb that will work for the check engine light for a 97 F355. Trying to pick one up at the local Home Depot,Lowes or auto store to install. Can't match because it was missing. Called local Ferrari dealer and they do not have a part number as they go by the old one to match. Thanks!

I believe you can't just buy the bulb, you need the plastic holder too. And when I looked you couldn't buy just those (I'll concede maybe I didn't look hard enough!). So...I ended up 'borrowing' from another indicator, I think it was the seat belt light.

You CAN replace the bulb only- only problem is the current 12V bulbs that fit the socket are a tad thicker, making the plug too wide to fit back into the back of the instrument panel- I forced one in but I would not recommend it.

And yeah it sucks to pay $20 for a 30 cent part- but that's life with a Ferrari.

Also- once the bulb is out and replaced you'll need to clear the codes in your ECU, also remember don't even put the key in the thing with the instrument cluster removed or you'll get the low voltage "Air Bag Light" that can only be cleared wit the Ferrari OBDII reader.

That is great advice. I will surely pass this tidbit of information to my non Ferrari dealer mechanic in case he is unaware of this.

Call FerrParts in Sacramento. They had an old partial instrument panel that had bulbs in it. Hopefully they still have it.

    Regards,
