for some unknown reasons, the "check engine" light on my 360M came on and stayed on....everything else works perfectly.

1- is this something serious (again, the car runs perfectly and all readings are normal on the dashboard)?
2- what could be the causes?

car just had its major service (out of town...) and i will have it check out but would like to solicit your opinions, 360M owners/mechanics/360 gurus...anyone...anyone?

Make sure the fuel filler cap is tight. Really tight.

    It could be anything.

You will have to have it checked out by a tech. Sorry.

Sounds like a faulty sensor or relay. The tech. will hopefully locate it with the computer. What yr. is your 360 and what service was done?

When the dealer hooks up their diagnostic unit, they will get a code out of it that says what the problem is.

I had the CEL come on twice on my 02 360. First time the dealer said they needed to upgrade the software - apparently a glitch in the old software could cause the light. The 2nd time, they said it was caused by an erroneous reading from the throttle sensor. But, it was never reproduced, so they just cleared the CEL and it hasn't happened since. I got the impression that spurious CEL on 360's are not uncommon.
