I am a recent Ferrari owner as I just purchased a 1999 355 F1 Spider. The problem I'm having is that when you turn the key the check engine light does'nt come on. This causes the car to fail the emissions test in Ohio so I can't get lisence plates. The car has two new cats and two new O2 sensors. My local Porsche dealer has looked at it and can't do much since they don't have the necessary diagnostic equipment. They think it may need a new O2 modulator, whatever that is. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Most likely sombody has pulled the bulb out. There are 2 phillips head screws at the base of the gauge pod, to the right and left of the steering colum. Remove and then lift up out and forword to clear the slip clip on the dash. With a small flash light shine around the rear of the dash and locate the check engine light location. If it missing you can just move another bulb and socket to its position for a temp fix. Then go ahead and get the codes pulled and fix the problem.
