I just bought a 355tb manual 6 speed. The engine out service was performed in may 2015. I was sitting still and the red light came on telling me to slow down well you cant go much slower than stopped. The next day my check engine light came on and has stayed on. Does anyone know what may cause this? I think maybe the 02 sensor but unable to hook up the obd2 and my mechanic is ordering a new plug for his scanner. Any help would be appreciated

The slow down light is all about the cat condition and their temperature. If you have an authentic slow down light (as opposed to a faulty connection or bad thermocouple, etc.), then its likely the cat is too hot. If you can't check this out yourself, you should have your mechanic do it soon. If the cat is overheating just a little, that's one thing. But if its very hot it could melt the core. This could be very serious because the engine could ingest some of it back into the combustion chamber. Not good!

Or it could be a bad thermo-couple or bad ECU or bad connection.

Or it could be that the mechanic swapped the ecu connections between the right side thermo-couple and the by pass thermo-couple. That happened to my car.

I would get a slow down light while stopped. Tromp on it as I entered the free way and the slow down light would go....wait for it....out.
