I went for a short drive this afternoon and the Check Engine L R came on. They cycled off after engine strat then cam back on strady. There were no catalyst lights on and the CheckEngine lights did not flash.

I removed the "battery" plug to reset the computers and they still illuminated and stayed on.

I spoke with Todd Doty the lambo mechanic at the Denver location and he said this happens sometimes when there is a change in elevation of this size. I put a few hundered miles on the car before this happend.

Just wondering if anyone here has had a similar experience with their 99 or other model. Todd said driving the car is perfectly okay as long as the lights do not flash or that cat lights come on.

I am going to go doewn there and have him look at it after the holiday. He saidf it would take a few hours to reset the computers to their proper setting for the altitude the car is at now.

Any feedback would be great just so I can learnm more about the car.

    Thanks.

Don't know about the altitude, and not sure this is much help, but you do know about how to activate the flashing codes by turning the key, right? Also, you ought to buy a cheap code reader. I did and it's been helpful.

lamboweb does a better job of explaining than me, but you turn the ignition on and off several times, then count the flashes. Print out the details and what the flashes mean from lamboweb.

the code reader I got works great and was less than $200, might save you some $$. If you want details, I can figure out what model.

The engine light flashes on and off a number of times, and the number corresponds to a certain problem.

And a code reader can be hooked up under the dash in a socket and tells you exactly where the problem is.

I got 22 flashes, this corresponds to the OBDII system failure. According to the mechanic this is one of the most vague code out there.

Jeff, just for info....the check engine light never came on other than when starting the car. Did you say you shut down the system and the lights still came on? However....you have also put more miles on the car in a week than I did in 6 months......keep driving!!

I did another "reset" of the system, this time left the plug out for a few hours, then ran through the start up and went for a drive and voila, no more lights.

I still think it needs to be looked at but for now the lights are no longer illuminated.

AJ, I can't help but dirve the thing, I swear it talks to me and says "come on, take me for a spin, you'll have fun I promise".

That normally takes care of it. Keep in mind the exhaust system that is on it can trigger some codes now and again. No biggie.
