I recently had the ck engine light come on and found the gas cap was loose after tightening the car the light is still on. There is not Ferrari repair shop wtihin 225 miles. I of course am assuming tha was the problem. The car runs perfectly and is otherwise normal operationally. A local shop with a generic computer indetified the code as presure related but could not clear the liglht. Any suggestions short of a 450 mile round trip to Ferrari shop.?? probably not worth it just for that item but it bugs me.

    tks,

    Dallas

If it came on from a gas cap and you know that for sure, it should go off after several drive cycles if the problem is corrected. I believe this is one of the very few OBD2 CEL functions that will self reset after several drive cycles.

Well... at least this is true for the Porsches.

Any OBD2 scan tool has the ability to clear the CEL. If the code really is for the small evap leak and it won't clear try disabling the immobilizer ( hit the button on the key fob that allows you to start the car).

Otherwise it will infact clear after a certain number of drive cycles without a fault recognized.

Try to clear it with the car running, I remember I had some problems clearing some engine lights on F cars with the car not running. Usally that will do the trick.
