    Seems on Monday while snowboarding at Sugar Mt NC I leaned over to re direct my flow down the mountain. I pushed off the deck and though three of my fingers followed orders my Karate Pinky finger "broke" ranks and tried to stay where it was. My friends told me the resulting cartwheel and face plant into the hill was very acrobatic.

    Bottom line: spiral fracture resulting in three nice pieces in the right small phalanges. (See Photo)

    I am scheduled for surgery on Wed to start a repair. The Corps got props from the Dr. He said he could not believe that I was only taking the last of my Vitamin "M" and not just screaming. He also said that he could not believe I did it Monday Night and then skied again on Tuesday.

    Broken bones are no fun. Glad you were able to ski the next day. I broke my left collar bone in Portland, flew myself home. ER doc didn't think I'd broken it, since I'd flown myself home. X-ray showed in 6 seperate pieces.

    Glad someone else has the same nurological deficiency.

    Yeow! Fingers w/ all those nerves hurt like hell to break almost as much as toes only because you have to walk on toes. As for skiing the next day-did that w/out a glove so the cold might numb, right? At least you have your 2 critical exam digits in tact.

    I've dislocated both shoulders, one twice. Seems like every year I do something dumber than the last. Rodeos are now off limits for me. I feel for ya man...

    The doctors around there must get a lot of sissies if they're so impressed about your reaction to a broken pinky finger.

    Anyways, broken bones make for fun stories. Good luck with the surgery.
