I only read about half of it. From what I understand the residents would rather have the area look like a trashy ghetto than to have the place full of prosperous businesses because they are painted ugly colors and will bring too much traffic and noise?

These people would piss me off. If I was you, it would motivate me to work even harder.

For the life of me I’ll never understand some neighborhood associations especially as backwards arse as that one. Jason, you’ve done some excellent work with Race St. & I hope you continue pressing forward with even more improvement plans.

While not familiar with FW, I do understand long time residents concerns over gentrification. There should be a balance between new and long time residents interests and those long time residents shouldn’t be taxed out of their homes.

"In Arlington Heights and Mistletoe Heights, some older homes are being replaced by McMansions.". We are fighting this very trend in Austin. The problem is that developers who don't live in the neighborhood don't give two s*its about the neighborhood, all they care about is making a buck at the neighborhood's expense.

The bottom line for me is that the people that were there FIRST should have final say.
