No, interestingly enough, the 1989's have some advantages:
    1. no mouse motor seat belts
    2. dual racing clutch
    3. iron clutch slave/throwout
    4. alloy cam belt covers
    5. easier battery maintence (located in rear)
    6. windshield not marred with internal antenna

But, later 348's began to have their own advantages over the 1989's:
    1. Motronic 2.7 with better programming/mapping
    2. Dual Throttle Position Sensors (better idle, more precise performance)
    3. Better exhaust
    4. less weight (plastic cam belt covers, less flywheel damping, etc.)
    5. better weight distribution (e.g., battery in front)
    6. Various TSB's fixed (e.g. fuel lines, transmission gear-oil-pump bearing, etc.)

So, half a dozen or so one way, half a dozen or so the other.

Joe you are correct! The drivers front side is a 355 wheel. I bet the owner curbed the right side and bought a wheel on ebay that looked like a 355 wheel to replace it... and the rest well :)

Yes, the passenger's front rim does look different. Hopefully they're all the same wieght & offset, or I wonder what that does to handling?

Mines a '94 and I have the cast iron clutch slave and throw out bearings. I don't think F used the aluminum until the 355 or else the were replacement parts.

Another thing I think is true: The 512TR is and 8x18 front wheel and the 355 front wheel is a 7.5x18 wheel. I'm pretty sure on this as I have had the 355 wheels and the competizione wheels. The competizione wheels are supposed to be the same as the 512TR wheel. This would mean the car's left front is a 7.5x18 and right front a 8x18.

That's 'cause none of them have the eye like 'Brent.' :)

I looked at the pics of that car several times (while it was in jersey) and never noticed.

Leave it to the Fchat wheel pro Brent to notice! :D :D
