Well it’s been an interesting year or so. First of all I really want to say how good it made me feel when a few of you called to check on me. Seriously without getting all mushy I was touched.

For those of you who wondered where I went the answer is nowhere but I've been pretty sick. A little over 2 years ago I took a drug called Chantix to help me stop smoking. I'm happy to say that I did indeed quit. However the after effects have been severe. I spent over $100,000 getting every test known to man. Finally I got a doctor to tell me off the record, “Dave you’re not going to get a Dr. to say anything bad about a drug company.” I've been living with what feels like battery acid in my hips, knees, elbows, wrists, and finger joints. Walking up (when you actually can sleep) every day in pain knowing that it won’t get any better during the day plays havoc with your life. The psychology of that kind of pain is very interesting. Google the words "Chantix joint pain" and you'll see there are 100's of people living a nightmare without much hope.
Frankly I’m a bit jaded and after all my research I haven’t found anyone who has made a full recovery but in the past month or so I’ve begun to feel a bit better. Not anywhere close to 100% but better.

    So….

”Hi all. How you doing? Let’s hear the scuttlebutt. I have a few stories to share with you too”

Dave, hope you continue to feel better and better. I've been off the radar with a head injury and am using this forum and working on the Ferrari as my own personal mind therapy. Hey, the doc said find something you enjoy and go do it... I've had a myriad of problems with the pain meds they've been trying so while I "feel your pain", thankfully nothing has lingered except the headache they are trying to nix

    Best of luck!!

    Rick

Hi Dave, I read some "where's Dave?" threads (similar to where's waldo, but without the hat and glasses) but had no idea, just knew you'd been ill.

I'm very glad you're better, even gladder to know you've tracked down the 'enemy' and hope upon hope with an extra dose of prayer that you continue to improve.

You sure this wasn't caused by a bad batch of Chianti? :)

Are you in physical therapy? Does shifting the 5 speed 400 help? Potential 'medical necessity'? Report back as you feel. You've been missed.

The Texas Wine tent in Conroe last weekend needed your representation..

So I boycotted them in favor of the Saint Arnolds booth...:D :D

Interesting. Valeria is about to try something for smoking I'll have to see what she's using...

    WOW!

My better half and I quit smoking 1 month ago. I used the patch for 1 week, she started I think on Chantix but then switched to another drug after a few days because it messed with her heart rate.

I hadn't known anything about these Chantix issues. Hope you make a full recovery (and Pfizer gets whats coming to them, yeah right).

    Best wishes from Milwaukee

Good to hear from you! I was wondering where you went. I've missed the full run-down on every GT4 that comes up for sale.

I'm sorry to hear of your issues and I look forward to hearing that you are getting better every day.

Hiya Rick, Hudson, Alan, & Brian. Great to see you guys!
    I hope you're all well.

I haven't been driving the GT4 much (its been pretty tough to get in and out of it) the 400 had been much more comfortable and easier. I may fire it up and go for a ride pretty soon.

It is finally cooling off here. With that greenhouse windshield you just can't drive your GT4 here in the summer.
    Pretty soon, pretty soon.

Dude, a million thanks on this.....Valeria's unfilled Rx is indeed, for that very product....

Expensive $$$$....and the listed side effects are "nightmares and bad dreams"...that must be some kind of joke from the Corporate Attorneys...

    Get Well soon, brudda!

One of my neighbors is part of the Viox class action ordeal just settled (had to have open heart surgery) & is supposed to receive about 140 grand. Hasn’t seen anything yet tho. What explanation does your doc give for your symptoms? Lyme disease ???

Up to her Alan, but before she takes it have her due one thing. Type these 3 words, in this order, in google
"Chantix joint pain" and watch your computer go crazy.

    Dave,

Glad to see you're doing better. Haven't been on here much the last month or so but remembered your stated some health problems awhile back and been wondering what's been going on. Your input has definetly been missed the time you've been away. Good luck to you.

    Jeff
