Every time I go out, I check all fluids, tire pressure, belts, battery. If you don't, well, it's your car.

The oil needs to be checked with the car HOT...... otherwise you will overfill it.

+1 on engine running and hot.

Also , be sure that you tighten the cap as tight as possible because the Stradale engine does vibrate a lot and will get the cap lose .

I also take a black marker and draw a line on the cap in the 12:00 o'clock position. This way I can see at a glance if the cap has loosened. This is an old racing trick. I actually mark all three caps. Oil, water and Hydraulic fluid. I am sure a loose cap would be very messy!!

Same here and I weekly check my other 2 cars, silly not to check. The owners manual will detail these practices for you.

    best way to check oil:

engine and oil must be at operational temperature
shut off engine and quickly check oil level
check oil with cap screwed down (not just set on top of threads)

.......and the engine running. Best thing is to hold it at 4000 rpm (when hot) for about 30 secs then check. Never have more than 2/3 full.
