Well, they didn't make fun of Scientologists until last season. He was OK poking fun at Christians, Jews and everyone else, but as soon as Scientology was the subject, all of a sudden people's religions are sacred and should not be mocked...
He's a Scientologist. Apparently what they say is true. It's OK to poke fun at other religions until it's yours. I'm wondering if it's him or if he's getting pressure from the "inside."
That's it exactly. His Scientologist "handlers" didn't like the direction of the PR on South Park. Anyone that's into Scientology real deep(especially a celebrity) is nothing but a puppet and tool to promote the religion. South Park couldn't ask for better PR for the show over this. Just find another guy with a deep voice.
its kind of embarassing when people realize that your religion is based on aliens trapped in volcano prisons. sometimes you just need a little time off after something like that...;-)
I can see the next episode: Kids "Chef, What's a hypocrite?" "You see kids, a hypocrite is someone who tells you to do one thing, then does something different. First ya take off ya clothes.... then ya get all sweaty... Girl....." BT
I think its pressure from inside. Issac did an interview on Opie and Anthony shortly after the episode aired. He didn't care then, he said something like, "You can't take Matt and Trey seriously."
Here he is on O&A months ago. Someone asked him about South Park making fun of Scientology http://files.foundrymusic.com/MP3/121905_IsaacHayes_OA.mp3
Since when did Chef get a conscience? It didn't seem to stop him from teaching 4th graders about a clitoris.
I can't wait to see what South Park does with this... I can only imagine and it's gonna be so damn funny, we'll all probably die of laughter...
No, signed them over to Scientology All to promulgate the secret beliefs of an alien called Xenu and aliens being frozen and dumped in volcanos so their souls could be brainwashed and confuse future generations of human beings, seventy million years later.
I can hear him now, 'So long chidrens'. NNO-No doubt Matt and Trey will address this in a future episode. And they're so great with creating new characters. We need more airtime for towelie and Mr. hanky anyway.
I like the show but I'm surprised it's lasted for so long. Btw, check out their message board. http://www.southparkstudios.com/fans/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=18442&sid=adecae8bcb40fc4c79e1c8679108940a
