I've reserved the Chef's table at the famous Gordon Ramsey restaurant in Manhattan for Monday lunch (21 May). This is a single large table on a raised platform in the actual kitchen itself. Last time we had a three hour lunch, you can see the preparation and the person making the dish, is also serving it and explains its contents. A very cool experience in one of the absolute best NYC resaurants.

The table sits 8 people and I lost 3 today. We are now 5 and the focus will be on modern Euro interior design and Ferraris (several owners in the group).

Anyone interested to join us? The luch costs $1000 (fixed) for the table plus drinks and tip. It will be easier to divide the bill by 8 rather than by 5.

A very generous invitation, indeed. I'd love to take you up on it, but I'm totally swamped Monday. :-(

I did alot of work there at the NYC London and installed the lighting you see there above the table.

Does the Chef perpare a special menu for you and your guests or is it off of the printed menu?? The one time I actually had the pleasure of dining at a Chefs Table, and I must say it is a wonderful experience.

    Enjoy.

Would love to join but alas, I am also crazed. Please report, though. I have been hitting Robuchon's place with some frequency lately and enjoy it immensely.

Chefs table seats maximum eight. We were 6 and had more room. Great place to take clients to. My wife and I were treated as regulars, even though we were there only once before. Works best first time around. The surprise of sitting in the kitchen, seeing the hard work (Two shifts, 8AM to 4PM and 4PM to midnight). Having the dishes explaned by the people that make it. All these people have very focussed eyes and it is very quiet.

The 8-10 course tasting food is outstanding and every time somewhat different. No choices. We asked them to pair the wine, but not to get carried away. Last time our clients spent almost $4K on the wine alone. This time we had to pay and kept the whole bill under $2K. All together a very wonderful three hour lunch.

I am glad you enjoyed....My wife were there for the opening, after dining at several of Gordon's places in London, I think this is one of the nicest. The kitchen is just outstanding both in form and function. The main dining room is wonderful with some of the most comfortable barrel chairs I have sat in. The are also extremely accommodating, as the rest of our party went with the tasting menu (which is more like a full meal) but due to some medical issues, I asked if I could order ala cart, which Gordon obliged.

My wife has a wonderful personalized book from Gordon for her b-day.
