Anyone have knowledge of this 82 GTSi for sales in Chicago? Looks pretty clean but shows as "pending". Possibly someone from Fchat with an offer on it ;)

I've looked at a few 82's but have never seen one that has the extra button or some kind of switch like this one just beneath the AC controls on the console. Is that a stock button or possibly aftermarket? Seems out of place.

Here is the link with images.

    Thanks for any feedback.

That little switch was installed by a previous owner.

Aside from that switch, this car is the most original 82 I have seen in years. I am saving the photos to my computer.

That happens to be my favorite year 308 by far and it is very difficult to find one that hasn't been changed somewhere outside. Sometimes it's the addition of a passenger side mirror. Sometimes a repaint that body-colors the A pillar. The one I HATE the most is when someone takes a black rattle can to the vents behind the lights. I was never a big fan of the QV like that honestly but at least those are supposed to be black here in the USA.

Anyway that is a beautiful car. I was in Chicago 2 weeks ago. Wished I had known it was there because I would have stopped by to see it.

I think I might agree the early models have a cleaner look without the black painted vents. Now I'm curious what that button is for... will have to phone to find out even if it is sold already.

That's a beaut. The person whom may have a deposit on said car is going to be a happy man.

That one will need door panel repair and console repair due to speakers and the mystery switch. Is it just me or does the steering wheel angle look weird in these pictures? Otherwise looks like a decent example.

    Best Regards,

I'm not loving the inside much either. I hate that too since the rest looked so nice

That is the second '82 I've seen in Chicago with striped carpet on the door panels. Is that stock?

That is just the detailer who used to be the local golf course grounds keeper. He is just brushing the grain of the carpet in opposite directions...just like the guys with brushes on their lawn mowers who do it to their lawns.

Project wise, this car looks easy to return to correct despite the issues.
