Anybody heading down to the Air & Water show this weekend? My Son and I will be down there on Sunday. We will be in our Dark Blue Chevy Conversion Van that will be parked on Cannon Drive across the street from the East entrance to the Lincoln Park Zoo.

I have been going down to it since the early 1980's. We used to park there on Cannon Drive and haul all of our stuff over to the Lakefront at Fullerton Point. To me, that's the very best spot, (other than an Eastward facing Condo or Apartment on "the Drive", that is....:) ) There is plenty of Shade if you want with all of those trees. Nice and Grassy. Cooler than down at the Beach, that's for sure! Or you can get up closer to the water. Port-a-potties. Food & Drink stands.

But, I cannot walk over there anymore with me bad pirate leg....(Idee Idee eye! Aaaarghhhh!.....;) ) So we just stay over by the Zoo. Walk around there a little bit, then hang out by our Van when the Air Show starts. (Plus, Junior's bladder hasn't seemed to keep up with his latest growth "spurt". So he has to "go" often. The washrooms are a short walk away at the Lion House at the Zoo.) We'll be BBQ-ing, and have lots of cold drinks if anyone happens to pass by, stop and say "Hello!"...:)

    Just look for this Van....:)

I'd love to come by, but we're having our baptism tomorrow. It's actually nice to sit farther North (Belmont area) now that the lakefront has been re-constructed. Less people to deal with.

Happy Baptism to your little guy!

Years ago, (In the late great '80's....:) ) I had a buddy that owned a 'Cigarette' boat. And he would launch it out of Diversey Harbor. We went out on the boat two years. That was fun. But he moved to California. And, took his boat with him....:(
