A little late this year with the events thread start. Will add a few dates in a day or two. First off, the Ferrari Club Chicago Region show is planned for Saturday March 19th 2022 at a new Barrington location. Will give more information when it is released. Happy New Year and keep collecting fine automobiles.
Not sure if this will even happen....Chicago Auto Show in February 2022. The Ferrari Expo show in March 2022 is also still not a sure thing. The only thing you can count on is Road America racing!!! Every year even in 2020 and 2021!! Support RA, you will not regret your visit. The place is a real gem and the racing second to none. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Interesting. They will have an event at Road America under new IMSA ownership. It should make the September event very much a must attend. IMSA Acquires Historic Sportscar Racing | IMSA Image Unavailable, Please Login
Chicago Auto show will still run this year in February.... Alfa and FIAT will have a display so they may have a few classics also on their display. Will have to see. BMW is back as is Bentley and the Corvette Z06 debut. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I agree, but no vacc card required. Only thing that I have to check is if alfa has some special cars like a few years ago. Otherwise boring!!
Hugh is still working on it, although it is not looking good. I am trying to convince them to do something with Fuelfed later in the springtime if the FCA event does indeed get cancelled again. Maybe another joint event like they do in September. Fuelfed does have a vendor show that I think will be in May, but outdoors.
I think I am going to the autoshow this year. They have the special paint Z06 debut and a Alan Mann GT40 and new Ford GT Alan Mann edition on display. Have not seen what the Alfa and Maserati have on display as the media is to busy trying to shove the new electric crap down our throats.
I think Alfa only has a few new colors on display and Maserati has a few cars in the sportscar section wich is bigger this year. Not sure what BMW and Porsche have. I am really going for the GT40 and Z06.
From Hugh and the Ferrari Club Central States: "I’ve been trying to organize the 2022 edition of the Literature, Model and Art Expo and I am sorry to say that I’ve come up short for a variety of reasons. Continental Auto Sports cannot host the event due to a variety of reasons and I’ve also looked at several other venues but so far nothing has offered us the space nor appeal that we have enjoy in past years. Plus Covid is not helping and with numerous restriction in Force and not in Force- masks, shots etc. I will take a pass this year on organizing the Expo. I’ve been in contact with a possible venue for next year that is very appealing and will continue to explore that option as well as others places that will help to continue to make the Expo special. Thanks for your patience and continued support. Stay healthy, sane and safe. Hugh"
Fuelfed will have a literature/model/car parts show in May outdoors. Stay tuned for this years Fuelfed events.
Fuelfed swap meet. Fuelfed has alot of member events planned this year. Brian is going all out. You might want to become a member if your like classic car rallies. The Winnetka and Barrington events should be a go for this year, and also Hinsdale if everything goes as planned. They have special member only classic car events, that's why I have a membership. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Hamilton Collection showed all their cars on Wed. I managed 2 pics only as it was way to cold to keep your hands out. But they had their Senna, Pagani and P1 there as well.
How about Continental's annual event? We're done with the stupid masks now. Can we have that event back please?
They cancelled it this year. See post #14. I think it will happen again next year when everything is somewhat back to normal. I will miss seeing all the Ferrari and car people who come every year. Always an interesting time with many knowledgeable car enthusiast attendees. Fuelfed does have alot of events still going this year. If anybody hears about any other sportscar oriented car shows in the region please give us a heads up.
I see Chicago Auto Club West will be having events this year. Chicago Auto Club West | Auto Groups in Chicago Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not sure if using a Mustang on your poster is a good idea if you are going to ask for $50 per head for a 2h show.
That the Shriner’s Hospital publicity car. They also used to run a mustang in NASCAR. Kinda makes sense they’d have it on the poster.
