I'm making my first trip to Chicago in late July 24-27. I'm going to the cub's game on Friday but what else should I do while down there? Also some suggestions on hotels that will keep me in proximity to Wrigley or a place that will make it easy to get around. I'm excited everyone tells me that Chicago is a blast.

    hello,

Last summer my wife and i went to see "The Police" @ Wrigley Field in Chicago. We stayed at a little mom & pop type hotel called The Majestic Inn. It wasn't very majestic, but it is walking distance to the ballpark, inexpensive for the Lakeview neighborhood. Last year we paid less than $200- which included enclosed parking and continental breakfast. Wile walking to the ballpark, we noticed local businesses were charging $40.00 just to park!

The room was small but clean and the hospitality was nice. However no one will confuse this with the Palmer House Hilton. Based on it's location, the price & convienence may be tough to beat. As for things to do? A lot! Shop the "Magnificant Mile" (N. Michigan Ave) Check out the Gold Coast and be sure to wine and dine on Rush Street. Sometimes referred to as "The Viagra Triangle" the local dining & nightlife at the intersections of State St- Rush St- and Oak Street are top notch.

As far as Ferrari, both dealerships are in the suburbs. There is a visually appealing Bentley/Lamborghini/Bugatti dealership on said Rush Street. Lot's of exotics to look at, but just to look at. just my $0.02

My parents also stay at the Majestic when they come to visit me. Very close access to Wrigley field. No need to scare him off Darolls. I live in northeast wrigley on the lake. It's not bad at all. Plenty of straight men, couples, great looking women. Just stay outside of that main drag on Halsted and you'll be fine. Great access to the Uptown/Wrigley/Southport areas(all within walking distance) and a choice of public transportation via bus or el.

I think a lot depends on your age and what your interests are. Theres so many options. Bars/pubs/clubs? Theatre? Shopping? Museums? Site seeting? What age-group?
