Absolutely! I haven't missed a Chicago Auto Show since 1970. Back when Hemi Cuda's were brand new, and only cost about $6K. 'Vettes too! I usually try to go twice, once with my son, and once with whomever would like to meet up there. Forget about the weekends. Waaay too crowded! The past few years we've been going on the opening day, which is a Friday, and it has not been crowded at all! IMHO, that is the best day to go. Kids are in school, most people are at work, and many fear that the first day is too crowded and shy way, but it's not. Also, we met Mario Andretti there 2 years ago, and he was only there for the first day in the Afternoon. Daytona Rick and I got autographed pix, and our pictures taken with one of the greatest Race Car Drivers of all time....Truly, a very cool, once in a lifetime (or very rare at the least) thing.... I'll be there on press days covering it for Autoblog. I'm trying to take advantage of the trip to visit family in the NW suburbs too. Probably be there 2/2-2/11.
Hello Frank! Post exactly which days that you will be there, and maybe we can meet up. I will probably have my son, Frankie with me on one day too. Probably not the first day, Friday though.
I think I'll only be at McCormick Place for the press days, which are that Wednesday and Thursday, the 7th and 8th. But I'll be with my folks in Lake Zurich from the 2nd through the 11th. Probably be visiting relatives in Bartlett, Romeoville, and South Elgin during that week too. If there are any f-chat events that week, shoot me a PM or email me at [email protected].
