Who's going and when? Also will there be an exotic car stand this year? I was looking on the main page and I only see a Shelby stand.
ME ME ME ME MEE!!!! I thought I wouldn't go but my dad's letting me! Sunday, is when I'm going. Can't wait! I LOVE the auto show! Will there be? I hope! There better be more, what's the website?
Probably going next week during the week on an afternoon trying to avoid the baby strollers. Looking forward to it since I widened my interest level
Yeah my dad doesn't like the weekends, too crowded, but I'ma get inline at 10 so I can get the most of my daaay! IDK why we're going on a weekend anyways, but as long as I can go! What do you mean "Since I widened my interest level?"
I'll probably be there tomorrow but I'll be one of those with a stroller everyone else is trying to avoid.
The big deal lately is ZR1 performance or better @ 1/2 the cost The new Edelbrock superchargers really are a HUGE bang for the buck... plus a few other LPE goodies to go along with it, and you are at close to 600 @ the wheels with an LS3, and still ZR1 matching performance with an LS2.
Okay so I got back from the auto show around 3 pm today, and there were quite a few exotics to my suprise! Lambo Gallardo Spyder* Bentley Continental GT* Lingenfelter's Aston Martin DB9* Dodge Viper* Ferrari F430* Audi R8 Spyder Lexus LFA!!!!!!! (First time see) MB SLS ///AMG Shelby's A Maybach 57s Nissan Skyline GTR NO VIPERS, and I might've seen more. I was kinda dissappointed by the lame turnout of exotic cars. Needless to say, I got vids of each of those, and they will be posted in the upcoming weeks and months in the spotters thread! * These were tuned cars in the "auto art" section
Funny enough I think those same exact cars were at the auto show last year. I'm personally not one for the LF-A but one of the first ones was just delivered in Orland.
Looks like a small turnout this year. Hope they have more concept cars next year. The new "big motor" Camaro and Mustang were nice. The LF-A is kind of boring to me. I guess it is a celebration of all the Toyota F1 and Lemans victories. Wait...THEY DONT HAVE ANY!!!! Tom Tanner/Ferrari Expo 2011-Chicago March 19th 2011
... the funny thing about cheating and getting away with it must be some kind of hyperbole that demands staying off the podium LOL
Huh? It is technically state of the art but who pays that amount of $$$ for a Toyota? IMHO only a superrich and patriotic Japanese collector
The 458 runs laps around the LF-A. What exactly did the Lexus achieve technically that's not already been done? If it came out 10 years ago sure, but cars half the cost perform just as well if not better. The Veyron I'd say is a technical achievement, not this.
Btw as for a market a several have sold in the US including one to Paris Hilton. I have no doubt they'll sell out of their run of 400 or 500 over the next year or so worldwide.
Can you back this statement up with something tangible? I know of no direct comparison. As for technology: The LFAs engine revs so fast that analogue tach wasn't fast enough anymore. There is potentially more F1 technology in the LFA than in the Ferrari
The LFA is a front engined CGT, wrapped in mediocre japanese styled skin. Because Toyota are good at copying... they are just late to the game. It's a technical achievement in terms of within toyota lol I think it's a neat car, but overpriced because of its lackluster styling... not the technology underneath the skin. It does have better torsional regididty than the CGT does; and is perhaps the most rigid sports car in production, except maybe the One-77. There have been faster revving engines than what the LFA has. That is purely marketing to say that. They wanted a neat new tech gimick to go along with it.
They had it in yellow. It looks good in yellow, like in the commercials! I don't care how much it costs. If it's got exclusivity, I'd take that in an instant...... But not before a Carrera GT, Ferrari F430/360/355/FF or any other exotic car for that matter!
