    Hey I was just flipping through a magazine (forgot the name) but there was an article about an event in Chicago last Aug 7? It was a Poker run at one of our marinas with fast boats and the lambo club was invited to attend. Some really nice shots of both steep freaks. Have any of you heard of it? Would love to attend it if they do it again this year. Apparently it was the first time the cars were involved but the boat section had occured previous years. Hey Andreas if anyone know who put this together maybe the Ferrari club can join in this year. Something like 25 Lambos showed up. Didn't think we had that many in Chicagoland based on other events.

    We did have about 25 Lambos (plus a Cobra and an Elise) participate this year. It was a lot of fun and got a lot of coverage in Luxury & Exotics, Poker Runs America, and Soak magazines. It was the first time that cars were along for the run, but it was a lot of work to organize and I am no longer with Lamborghini Chicago, so it looks like it was a one time thing. However, if any of you are interested, I am sure I can be persuaded to organize a similar event without the helicopter coverage because it was a major expense and really only benefitted the boaters. I have a ton of pictures if any of you are interested.

    Mike can you post some here? I would love to see both the cars and the boats. Yes Luxury and Exotic was the mag that I read on the newss tand. Great shots and article. I'll PM you with my email if you have them electronically.

    Hey my lady flies her own plane maybe I can convince her to do some low fly overs and I'll take some stills and video shots. I would love to help organize an event like that. I friend helped organize a show which started in Phoenix, and occured in Dallas, and I think Miami -It was called the Big Boy Toy Show and had higher end toys for guys and gals. I've been trying to get him to setup a similar one here in the Windy City.

    You know. There is an "Official" dedicated Drive/Route around Lake Michigan. My Grandmother told me that they used to take the Drive around the lake frequently when she was younger. That could prose as an interesting possibility for a Poker Run/Drive. It can't possibly take more than a few days to do....maybe over a 3 day Weekend like Memorial day or something.......? Maybe get it sponsored. For Charity. Media coverage..........Lots of potential possibilties here.....:)

    Charity alsways brings out a lot of nice cars. Our poker run supported the Make-a-Wish Foundation and we were able to grant wishes to three families. A lot of fun for a good cause.

    Yeah let's see some of this pictures Mike! I would have been there had you guys finished my car on time and got it back to me in one piece instead of several pieces on my passenger side floor!! hahahahah I need to see what I missed out on!!

    Hey Detour, don't blame me for what went on in the service department...that would be your buddy Don's issue! :) But at least you were able to make it to the fall color tour. I get the pictures together soon.

    Mike send some of the pics to Andreas and he can post some of them on the web. I'll talk to Andreas, I would be up to help organize a similar event, especially for charity. Make A Wish is a great one. Maybe we can talk more later in the Spring and get both the Ferrari and Lambo clubs to work together to pull it off and maybe the boat group. Boy they sure had some wicked looking speed boats in the pics. One with 3000 hp, sure would love a ride in that one.

    Okay okay you personally had nothing to do with it...I just like to give you are hard time! I still need to see those pictures though. Let's see if you can post them in less time than it took Don to get my car finished!! hahahahha I am in for any type of "Run" in the summer!!!

    Nice shots Mike. Now can somebody enlighten me please on the concept? I see a bunch of cigar boats and a bunch of Lambos. What's the connection? Did the cars race against the boats or was this an "Iron Man" style race where you go from car to boat to helicopter?

    We drove the cars along the Lake Michigan shore from northern Illinois to Wisconsin and back and the boats drove along the shore in the water. It wasn't a race per se, but the boats were able to go as fast as they wanted as there is no real speed limit far enough off shore. We stopped at the same checkpoints as the boats to eat and get our playing cards. At the banquet that evening the cars and/or boats won prizes. The first two places went to our car group and third was taken by a boater.
