So I heard, the place I went to was very expensive, kinda like high end soul food.

Fried Chicken and Waffles is a fantastic combination.

My Mom and I had homemade Chicken and Waffles once a month, usually Wednesdays.

Then, when I lived in L.A., went to nearby Roscoe's... Mom's was better.

Made some of my own two weeks ago... hers is still better.

    She's really proud of that.

    Try it, you'll like it.

I suppose. It took years before I would try **** on a Shingle (SOS: sausage gravy on toast) or Slop on a Rock (sausage gravy on a biscuit). Now I love them both, but with lots of pepper.

I thought the same thing as well when I first heard of chicken and waffles together but after trying the dish, it's now one of my favorites!

Hash House (I know it's in San Diego and Vegas) has a Fri night chicken and waffle special - two sage-fried boneless breasts and four waffles for $12.99... I could barely eat half of it!

I've heard about this but never had it.
    How do you eat it?
Do you eat the chicken on top/with the waffle? Or on the side?
    With maple syrup...?

Usually on the side, maple syrup on the waffle... but I like to eat it together. A dab of hot sauce on the chicken is good too. Spicy, salty, crispy, doughy and sweet all in one bite.

Cool thing about Roscoe's is that they're open until 2 am on weekends. I used to work close by the Hollywood location and got off work after midnight so Roscoe's was a convenient spot for "dinner," as was Pacific Dining Car. I'm sure that had nothing to do with my current physical condition!

You said it. I used to have the filet & eggs regularly. Of course, that was back when I was still eating mammal.

This thread has had me craving waffles. I really want waffles right now. But not with chicken even though I want to try that sometime.
I want them with vanilla ice cream in the batter and then with ice cream on top. I rarely eat ice cream or waffles actually.
eughh I hate midnight cravings! Tempting but I don't want to gain any weight.
