Absolutely great race. Looks like Rossi has figured out the Bridgestones, his only challenger was Pedrosa, and the last 10 last, just destroyed him, setting fast lap time after time, and ultimately Pedrosa realized that he didn't have what it takes. Rossi by about 4 second. Stoner a distant third.

Also, considering his injury, Jorge Lorenzo did fantastic. Rossi was just amazing to watch.

The camera placement is getting so good it just makes it even scarier. See Nicky braking so hard the back is off the ground. Looks good, but smooth wins.

Didn't see the CGP i forgot about it unfortunately, but last race i seem to recall hearing that hayden was on the 07 bike. So i would presume that might be what happened this time around.

I watched most of it and man people complain of F1 being boring!!, this was just unbelieveably boring for me. I know they are going fast but because they are so small (compared to the track) they look like they are puttering at walking speed. And their cornering speed is (looks) pathetic.

I guess like most racing if you have been there and done that you can take much into it as a spectator ... I haven't got that on track on a bike perspective and thus it just looks boring and slow.

But it is disappointing to see Stoner struggling with an obviously not-quite competitive Ducati ... although he missed his braking point 2 laps in a row in the first few laps that cost him!

Good to see Melandri in the top again. Stoner was not happy with the tire advise. Next time I guess he'll stick with his own judgement. Look to be a nice title fight between several drivers.

    Welcome back Rossi!

What a beautiful piece of riding. Pedrosa rode him hard, but just couldn't get past him. Brilliant! The championship has become very interesting.

He had some electronics issues mid-way through the race, hence his fall from 4th to 8th...he tinkered and messed with the traction control and rode it home to 6th making a couple good passes late.
If he didn't bin it last race and got the 3rd he could/should have gotten he'd be 4th in the points. Just another one of those years riding the small 800 designed for Pedrosa...

Unless Honda pulls something out of the bag, I don't see Dani getting any better than 3rd place for the balance of the races, with Vale and Jorge fighting over who's going to win. Stoner will be behind all of them, trying to get 4th place.

What I saw from the video is that nobody brakes anywhere near as hard as Vale, he would gain, one two bike lengths in the entry into the corners, every lap. He gets into the corner much harder than anyone, and carries a mile or two an hour of extra speed through the corner. Doesn't sound like much, but it's huge when you consider who he's racing against.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that the Yammie has finally caught up with the Honda in terms of power. In fact Rossi was pulling slightly away from Pedrosa down the back straight.

Ducati are still the king in terms of power, but the gap is much smaller.

If you go to Motogp.com you can see the trap speeds at the various straights. They usually have those with the qualifying times. The Ducks usually are the quickest, but you know, the Yamahas are frequently better. However, an awful lot of that is riding style combined with the HP. How hard you come off the corner has an effect on the trap speed. Some of that gain by Yamaha could very well be the hooking up off the corner. BTW: that is what happened when Vale pulled Pedrosa, you can see it on the onboard cameras that he had a few miles per hour off the corners.

To me (and heck I know almost nothing about m/c's, and their racing) the Ducati's look to be suffering under braking.

Apparently (according to somebody on another site) this year Stoner took something like 12 seconds (?) LONGER than last year to finish this race, and yet Rossi was quicker than last year. Thus Ducati have major problems. Surely they can learn from last years bike?

Is the 12 seconds adjusted for his two off-track excursions?

As to the suggestion that MotoGP is boring, I strongly disagree. Although I think 125 and 250 are more exciting, MotoGP is a fantastic spectator sport. The passing and relative parity make it, IMHO, better than F1, which I really, really, really love.

Wasn't that the previous race? I did not see Stoner go off at China, miss his braking point twice yes ... and yeah that would have cost time, but not 12 seconds.
Well I'm glad some find it exciting, it looks slow on TV to me. I need to see a race live don't I ... one day I hope to get to Phillip Island.

I don't know about unbeatable, but he'll get stronger with every race as the bike gets developed, and the tires get stronger. It's looking like his strongest competition will be his own team mate, Lorenzo. It's a shame we can't directly compare the two because of the difference in tire suppliers.

I am picking Rossi to win the Championship, but it's going to be tight. Lorenzo will be right there, as will Pedrosa. Also, you cannot count Stoner out. To us fans, this is some fantastic stuff..........what racing is all about.

I am praying that Rossi doesn't retire any time soon.

I suspect not for a while. Rossi is on a mission, and he's been working with Bridgestone doing lap after lap, making sure that the tires are going to work for him. Read the recent interview with Burgess on Motogp.com, and you'll see where this is going. I see the fight for the champions between Rossi and Pedrosa. Lorenzo would have been there but they can't keep doping him up for the races, and I don't see him winning another for a few months when his ankle has healed.

When you're prepared to loan them the 10 - 15m that he requires, I'm sure they'd hire him. They don't have the dough, and probably never will. He's definitely into the money part of this deal, and frankly, given what he's had to go through, I don't blame him one bit. I'm told that Stoner gets about 5m Euros.
