Only about 5 minutes go to. Hope Ferrari does well but my spectulation is that Kimi will take pole. It could be possible that Toyota might run very light on fuel and try to pull off another pole. Anybody's guess . . . time will tell.

    Hello Carol

Kimi is my pick... I think Monty will get a Top 3 spot despite starting second .. Wont be able to chat live as my wireless i/net connection is acting up. Will check back in some time.

Is everyone on a new engine?

    Good morning Sam -

Juan has pole thus far - they are saying that the Porsches played havoc with the track in terms of rubber on the track. Don't know the answer to your question but do know Renault is running a "special" Chinese GP engine - commentators said earlier it is only to last about 750 km or something like that - in otherwords it sounds like it self destructs post race!

Things a tad on the boring side as far as qualifying at the moment - the heavy hitters are down the list.

    Carol

Way to go Rubens! in P2 - too bad it won't hold for his last time to qualify in a Ferrari

Even better Michael now into P2 - .113 behind JPM - too bad he ran a tad wide

Whats up with the schedule? Qualifying is currently live on Speed, but it still says 25 minutes until "Live Timing" starts on Formula1.com. Whats up with that?

EDIT: It jsut came up and its going on F1.com.

Hey Sam - our pick didn't make it! Renault on front row - you know what mind game that's doing to McLaren. Good to see Michael on row three. Now it's all down to how much fuel and pit stop strategy. Wonder if something is amiss with Kimi's car?

Were you at the FoH breakfast in August?

I think Kimi was really heavy on fuel - hence the car was not turning in as well as he would have liked. There is a going to be great scrap tomorrow between him and Alonso. Hope Kimi wins.

The Renaults are on the new spec engine while Kimi is Suzuka engine. Advantage Alonso!

Button and Alonso were really smooth today - not a bobble anywhere. Fisi's body language in the press conference indicated a defeated man. It must be a humbling season for him. He had never had a teammate he couldnt dominate. This year he has been used and abused :)

    Nope

My immediate response would be yes, but Rubens has been quick all weekend long. I think they know its the last race of the year, and they're going for broke. I really think they're throwing everything they have at the car, and probably turning up the wick on the engine too. Give it all, and if the engines dont hold, oh well. They dont have anything to lose, so they might as well run it till it blows.

No, he simply made too many mistakes in his qualifying run.

I'm expecting another great battle between Kimi and Alonso.

May not happen if Kimi can't get around Fisi. And Fisi I'm sure is looking to avoid a repeat of last weekend.

If he doesn't hold off KR then I think his days are numbered with his arse in a top team seat. They may already be.

Alonso rockets off with Kimi 'stuck' behind Fisi. Will MS take 3rd in the WDC ? Of course Fisi could jump right over MS and JPM and take 3rd with a win. Will JPM overcook it trying to make up ground? Or be at the wrong place at the wrong time like so many times this year?

    I think Renault are aiming a 1-4.

Fisichella will try to keep both McLaren's behind him during his first stint and Alonso will try to build enough gap to win the race. Then GF will drop to 4th because of McLaren's strategy.
