I hate the rain.
They better hope for a weather improvement tomorrow. I guess Bridgestone spent all of their time getting their dry tires to perform better and forgot the wets.
Michael in 6th position...Felipe gets the back of the grid. Renault 1-2. Hopefully they take each other out in corner one, otherwise Ferrari's championship aspirations (both of them) will suffer serious damage tomorrow. Bridgestone...it may be too much to ask but I can't believe they didn't spend SOME time developing an adequate wet tire. Better hope for either a typhoon tomorrow or no rain. The full wets aren't as bad as the intermediates.
damn. altho i've always liked wet races, i'd always prefer for just 1 tyre supplier. then it's even for all. i think it's really really silly for championships to be decided on tyres. well, good performance from MS tho. edit: why is it always Honda changes it's liveries for the Chinese race?
I think Schumacher might be light on fuel. I hope not though. I have faith that he can pull out a win if it isn't raining. If it is raining. Say goodbye to Championship #8.
Bravo Fernando. He needed this. MS did a really good job given his tires, but if it is dry tomorrow he's in for a long race since both Ferraris appear to be running higher downfoce set-ups and it will slow their cars down. The 555 brand is better known in Asia than the Luckies livery that Honda ran before. At least they aren't doing that horrible split paint job that BAR had their first year. Edit: Rubens looks like he borrowed Petter Solberg's driving suit.
Congrats to Renault. Michelin is once again the tire choice for the wet. This may make an interesting championship. If Renault finishes as-is, and if Japan is dry, we could be at a level field again. All will come down to Brazil. If it rains in Japan and Brazil (which it has in the past couple years), uh oh.
Why? Racing tires are just as much an advanced "black art" as the rest of the car. Bridgestone hasn't done their homework in developing a good wet tire. I know a lot of us are mad about Michelin's failure in the past year's USGP, but overall, their tires just outshine BS's. And F1 is all about finding and developing the best technology, along with showcasing driving talent and team strategy. The sport and the tech are going to be poorer for losing Michelin and going for a BS monopoly. If you wanted everything evened out, might as well watch A1, there it's purely driver skill that decides the outcome.
The only danger is both Ferraris getting taken out in the traffic. As the Hungary GP showed in the rain all bets are off. Its 12th to 1st then back to 10th then 1st then DNF.

Funny, I just read Michael saying Ferraris weather guy saying dry conditions. I hope they're right , time to call Al Roker!
Fabulous effort by Michael to get into P6 in a tyre that is nowhere as good as the Michelins. Good to see Rubens do well too!
Did you notice that Michael was the only Bridgestone shod car to make it to Q3? All six cars eliminated in Q1 were Bridgestone runners. Which is odd, because the S03 street tires are pretty good wet tires. But they're not as thin as the stuff they're running in F1 these days. Normally, I like competition to improve the breed. But the Michelin/Bridgestone competition seems to be for thinnest tire, and it's compromising safety. One tire supplier may not be all that bad for F1. But Flavio's rain dance worked. Now lets see how good Ross's Renault engine voodoo doll is.
well, Todt pointed out, if there's heavy rain, it'll be MS's and Ferrari's race. so will be if it's changing conditions. but it's the light rain's that a bit of worry. those inter BS tyres are just not up to it.
I have BS RE040s and it rains here a lot in FL. They're not good in the rain at all. I lose traction sometimes even when letting the clutch out slowly. I've also lost the backend coming around a corner, but then again I don't have VDC (like DSC in BMWs) or traction control. I'm hoping for lots of rain tomorrow. ANYTHING can happen. BMW 1-2.
