Some of these have tight fitting cover panels. Just use some effort to open from front outside top - same as if it was a real book. These were tin boxes made to hold individual diecast Ferrari's. I've had several of these 312 F1 pieces.

You are right Marshall! Here's the proof, if it shaped as a book, then it must open as a book. Duh.

    Regards and thank you!

    Hahaha. Good old La Storia.

I had the full collection by IXO only for them to stop 1/3 of the way through

Then Mattel decided to give it a go. They stopped 1/5th of the way through

    Still have them all.

I don't think another company would try a third time.

I think this is all the original run of them by IXO. Can't remember the names, but I bought them all as they were released. Only bought the Andretti one in the book. There were a few Schumacher ones during the transition that weren't in the books or clamshells.

You're testing me now and both sets are packed away safely in moving boxes but from memory there were somewhere around 30 or 40 IXO individual models in their set then they lost the license to produce Ferrari models.

Mattel made I think around 20 models or so then lost the license and stopped.

Don't quote me but it was somewhere around those numbers.

Time was up on Mattel license and they chose not to renew, or to agree to Ferrari's latest requirements/demands, same for all other model companies with regard to Ferrari licensing.
