Yesterday a Blue Hawaiian Helicopter crashed into the East Molokai mountains killing the pilot and four passengers. Thankfully “ Hawaii” our member Emory was not the pilot. The mountains on the east end of Molokai have claimed a number of lives in Aviation accidents over the years. Molokai was socked in yesterday all day. I can see it from my lanai and it was ugly all day with heavy dark clouds, rain and high winds from the NNE. I have no idea what happened or why but I’ve always shied away from flying to Molokai in anything other than the best weather and in daylight. RIP Nathan Cline and passengers.

My cousin's uncle-in-law runs a chopper service on Maui, I forgot the name...I wonder if this chopper belonged to him? Hope not.

I have often thought about what I perceive to be the perils of flying over there. I'm sure it's beautiful when it's a nice, somewhat dry day, but I would also think the wx can turn on you fairly expeditiously around those mountains.

    Anyway, RIP. Very unfortunate.

I've been on that flight. The rain and clouds can be thick.
