I was reading the long article in the latest Forza about the 456, and saw the Sultans 456 cabriolet ... interesting ...

What would it cost to take a 456 into a good custom body shop and have it turned into a cabriolet ? Any comments on doing something like this ?

A four door cabriolet v12 ferrari would be awfully nice - especially given how cheap a 456 can be bought for these days...

Here you go - and this one is done by straman and even has a vortech supercharger... And it has been for sale for a while - Michael Sheehan also has it listed on his site...

There are a couple of old threads on this topic as well... Not sure what it would cost - but to do it right - you would be pricing (if you wanted to resale) out of the market - imo... However I think it looks good!

I just noticed in those pictures - the Red 355 Spider is the one I bought from ExoticPerformancePlus... (you can see it in the background)... Thought that was interesting... Ok back to the cave now...

Pretty nice ... I still wonder if anyone has any idea what the conversion (without supercharging :) would cost ... I ask because I would be interested in an automatic, and one newer than 1995 ...

    thanks!

I have been told Sheehan is no longer in business. Oh well, does seem like a great idea especially since they went in and reinforced the chasis to compensate for rigidity losses. But 100 large surely is a lot of money for chopping a good car!!

Ryan, you are right, thanks for clearing it up. And my apologies to Mr. Sheehan for speculating his early demise!!

Would also be very interested to know if there is anyone capable of doing this conversion - there are alot of 400 conversions in the UK at the moment, but they are all auto.

Is this the Sultans cabriolet( 456 GT Venezia Cabrio Dk Green Met’ 104023) at The Marconi Automotive Museum 1302 Industrial Drive, Tustin, California - I presume so as it is RHD - and I believe this colour was one of his favourites, there is a 456 Estate(Shooting Brake) for sale in the UK in the same colour.
