It's a good question. I think it would be OK as it's on a different plane. This view is pretty cool. I've locked it in my spec for now, so will see what I decide when I finalize. Maybe someone will post some pics when they get their car to show the Ferrari name and CR at the same time?
There are two option codes for external satin black badges. I believe HBSA is for the Ferrari script badge on the rear deck and HBMB is for the cavalino on the rear panel but get your dealer to confirm.
I regret not ordering black ceramic exhaust tip. I have not taken delivery of my car yet (arrived 2 days back) but saw how stained the exhaust tip already is and worse, it is smack in the middle of your eye line, not under or part of bumper like other models. Issue is it does not stain evenly all over; ugly splotches. I am considering either ceramic coating it (special high temp ceramic coating for exhaust tips available it seems) or ordering a replacement. Spend the extra $1,700 and be done with it. Need to remove the rear bumper to be able to remove the exhaust tip. I believe Cerakote would give a great finish.
Novitec are also offering a challenge-style mesh grille with twin tips - puts a different spin on the back of the car Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am using GTECHNIQ "All Metal Polish M1 v2" product recommended on a post I cannot find now, perhaps this thread – works a treat.
I like the idea but I don’t think they implemented it perfectly. You can still see the overall shape of the original exhaust. The tips feel like they jutt out of nowhere. And they could use a little more spacing between them.
Anyone know how to remove the tip? Can it be removed without having to remove the bumper? It looks like it is held on to the black metal mesh by clips but can’t tell how you remove them. also anyone powder coat/ceramic coat theirs? Thanks.
I agree with ATLBond. My dealer recommended the Black tips for the same reason. I spec'd our on-order GTS with them. I also like the solid black look. I think it better matches the front.
My dealer quoted 3000 GB pounds for the upgrade to a black exhaust. It crossed my small mind to just paint the silver one with high temperature black matt paint. Yes I know this sounds like a really dumb thing to do to a Ferrari, but what exactly is the argument against apart from the paradoxical one of cheapness?
The paint will just come off. Do NOT do it. I replaced mine and it was about $2500 US. The tip was 1500 and the labor 1000.
Have the standard grey. $4,000 to change it out. Ferrari should replace it as a design flaw for free.
Thank you for your clear response. Not being argumentative, and I know I can just replace the exhaust tip, but out of interest why do you believe that paint designed for high temperature applications (stoves, flues etc) will just come off?
Exhibit A and B below. The dealer sent it out to be professionally powder coated with paint designed for high temperature and this was the outcome after 3 drives Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

The black exhaust has it's own issues. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Luckily I haven’t had any issues with my new one. About 500 miles on it and it looks the exact same as day 1. Maybe environment and gas have affects on it? (I would defer to your expertise John as that’s just a wild guess on my part).
Trust me, I’m as clueless as anyone on this. I ordered a chrome exhaust on my Spider. Once I rack up some miles I’ll have a better understanding. Stay tuned.
