The bid to plate the 4 bumpers and remove some minor dings is $1100. Anybody have any feel for this?

    It sounds good.

I have been quoted $2K on down, for all four, but as usual there are lots of variables. Ask to see their work and ask for references.

    Caveat emptor!

    Regards, Alberto

I too was quoted $1000 with no repair of any kind. Assuming the place is reputable your price is good.

Where did you get this quote? I am thinking of doing my bumpers this winter. Hope not The Plating house, he did my shifter last year and the chrome is peeling off !

Have you gents considered stainless steel bumpers? Several members of the board have 'em and are very pleased.
A note about chrome...due to EPA restrictions, many chrome houses have gone out of business in the USA. The survivors that do quality work charge a bunch and often have a waiting list. Here in SoCal, $2k for a set of bumpers would not be out of the question. My plan is to put my 'originals' in a box for posterity and order a set of the stainless ones. They even come with the new bumper rubber and s/s end caps. They run about $1800, delivered.

Here's the parent company for the s/s bumpers:

Click on the "More Info" button to see details & blow up pictures.
Looks like GBP £1055.00 plus Shipping cost: £79.00 (Currently, about $1720 plus $130)
They are running a sale: " Buy today and save: £40.00 GBP" (about $65).
They also have an eBay listing:

There are Stateside vendors who handle them, too. Check with the usual Ferrari & Dino parts sources...I believe that they are competitive in pricing.
I've snagged one of Dino Club Germany's pictures showing the Harrington bumpers on his bella Dino. (Wow, two Giallo Dinos in one shot! What are the odds?) I imagine that Nicolai will soon be in touch to give us a testimonial.
Good luck, all; keep the rest of us posted.
    Cheers,
    Coop

I have considered stainless and still might get them. On the chrome bumpers after shipping and new rubber I get pretty close to the cost of stainless.
The chrome shop is in Chicago.
