I believe that the strips were measured up after the cars were finished with panels and door gaps within spec, hence the need for each individual strip being stamped and then matched to the car remember these cars were built with a hands on approach not like the robots of today,I doubt that many strips are the same lenght as each other, mine varies around 1/8 inch,so maybe before orders are taken we should all check the lenghts as each end is sealed it would be dificult to adjust them.

How did you measure to within 0.1mm accuracy?

I don´t know about the current situation of # 0646, I have only some parts from this car.
I think the body No. is 282.
Does that fit to your expectation?

There are several quality metal plating services in LA.
Have you tried "Verne's chrome plating" in Gardena?
    Very good.

As the Dino.de parts, DO NOT work, as confirmed by a 'Dino Experten' ;),

I have got in touch with an outfit in the UK that is interested in replicating them PROPERLY.

    I will know more mid-November.

Meanwhile it would be interesting how many need what parts, including the roof gutters.

    Regards, Alberto

Any news with regards to availability of the chrome trim pieces for the roof gutters made in brass? I'm missing one for the left hand side. I've just binned a stainless steel one that I bought from a German vendor.....It was completely useless, unfortunately I was so naive to by one for each side, so I've been throwing good money after bad parts.

    Best regards

    Peter

    Peter,
We ended up making the brass-chrome oval gutter trim. It's fragile, easily broken and no-one has the correct profile that I could find.
We made a jig, re-profiled some brass tube and built up copper layers to get the correct oval shape. Sorry, not much help....

Thanks for the inspiration....I might end up trying to make my own profile copying the RHS profile that's still original. It's a good project for winter times (2017 though)....-:)
