Thoughts on this: http://www.google.com/chromebook/#chromebooks
Thanks. Yep I use Google apps a fair amount but still need Office for work. What about versions, i.e. Samsung vs. Acer? It seems to me the Acer has a better overall spec (except for battery life) and it's cheaper via Amazon. But that is more a guess than an educated review.
There are better out there with the functionality of a laptop but the lightness, mobility, and battery life as a netbook. I got this last year and love it http://www.amazon.com/K50IJ-XA1-15-6-Inch-Versatile-Entertainment-Laptop/dp/B004Q9T7LO/ref=sr_1_11?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1312907318&sr=1-11
Thanks for the comments and recommendation. If I decide to get a new computer rather than replace my hard drive I might go with a laptop instead of a tower. "Ugh" either way...there goes my ipad/tablet fund.
Wow, Google is really monitoring my emails. Less than an hour after getting a HP Touchpad update pushing more HP products I rec'd an email from Google telling me the Chromebook is now available at Amazon. Coincidence? I think not.
