HOoo yes i ve seen it there 2 days, personaly i thougt it was rims in Aluminium i don t read all the post of Greg. yes they are pretty good like this
yes aluminium, but unless you get cnc milled wheels made (expensive), the chrome is good alternative, the aluminium rims are highly polished anyway on the real thing to a mirror finish
yes i understand you the rims alu are exhauted prices. and very long to produce if you do it yourself.
not big but only dream cars in 1/12, and also 1/43 And you do you like 1/12? personaly i stop all others 1/18 and 1/43 definitively i prefer 1/12 for hight resolution and something more, have something beautifull in your hands. you have a link here: http://***************/showthread.php?t=1596 some others 300SLR, SLR2004,Lamborghini with RGT( kit not posed) at this time i m changing house and country, but in 2 month i will show you all, i m preparing something for them.
ah yes, i have seen your pictures before, excellent collection. where do you get the red car covers for the 1/12 cars?
covers are made by myself. patiently. GTO , yes master piece of my museum, i m trying to get another one for a special attention a new SN in my head may be before end of this year.
Neil SLK99, know a store in HK for chromed rims, he s not sure for the quality aspect. ask to him. Christ
Sorry Neil, I hvnt checked this thread for awhile. Here's the place I used to plate the F40 wheels: http://www.chrometechusa.com/ He seems to be a one man operation, doing it as a hobby. Slow service, but I was satisfied none-the-less. Not a whole lot of vacuum plating competition out there. Good luck!
I thought some of you migh tbe interested in this?? http://cgi.ebay.com/Aluminium-Wheels-Rims-Ferrari-1-12-F50-Enzo-Lamborghini_W0QQitemZ7019484380QQcategoryZ223QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I have this too, but doesn't looks good... rims are unable to roll smoothly...not too satisfy with the money I paid for... 109USD for rims, and 40USD for S/h air....
"roll smoothly"?? Are you saying you play with your toy cars? Naaahh I understand what you mean with the price you payed for it.
Have you heard of "Alclad II"? its a chrome paint that goes on over black. Basically what you do is strip and clean the parts, get a good high gloss black finish, and then airbrush a light coat of Alclad on there, and with a little practice on scrap parts, you'll be able to have perfect chrome very easily. I've used Chrometech USA, and the service is excellent, but does take some time. Not necessarily a big factor for me, takes a year for me to complete a model anyway! Carl
Yeah... the original Tamiya F50 or even Kyosho F40, they can roll smoothly in original state.... but after applying these metal rims, they cannot.... so I am not satisfy. Currently, I am working on building a race track for putting up my 40+ 1/12 Models (i.e Mclarens, F50, F40, Enzo, Carrera GT, Murcielago, XJ220, XJ220GT, SLR Mclaren, GT40, etc)
yes tomorow i turn back in Spain, i must to finalize my installaton at the end of may, early june i will looking for 1 or 2 models more. 250 GTO and perhaps a new release like Kyosho or AA,Tamiya.
