Forgot to add that while car was apart I received new window switches and 25mm steering spacer from ricambi, (great service!) I was sick of the switches being intermittent, I did pull them apart and fix temporary. I dig that the new ones light up Image Unavailable, Please Login
I got a little sidetracked and made 3 vented front under trays for later 308's they'll be for sale, hand made with love on my hundred year old punch press. Made with great risk to my surgeons hands (I'm not a surgeon) for you. These are old 1/8" aerospace panels from Boeing aircraft company, unavailable anymore. I really bad wanna stick it to anyone who wants one but I'll probably just charge under $200 or trade for helicopter parts. Oh and these panels have been argued to fix all overheating troubles as well as reduce cabin temperature to air conditioned like properties Image Unavailable, Please Login
The business side has been sprayed with industrial black grip, takes a beating, other side is just satin black paint, correct holes drilled and louvers punched accurately by eye just like the factory might have done, Louvers are also of a reserved civilized size, not out of hand openings Image Unavailable, Please Login
And here is the original reversion technology prototype, it's been on the car awhile, been scraped, scooped gravel, driven over deer, looks to be in great shape Image Unavailable, Please Login
Only 2 left of this sporadic run, I'm not listing for sale in classified area, I'm secretive and sneaky I expect you to be the same
Time once again to fix the horrors of once was. Someone or one of you did a horrible job of sticking an ansi muffler to the car. I was given a stainless jobby from superformance for happy holidays so now I have no excuse. Image Unavailable, Please Login
So the old muffler was welded terrible, had way off mounts, rattled and last had fiberglass tape to patch a pipe, sound familiar? Ok who did it Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here's a peculiar thing, front header and pipe are nice stainless factory Ferrari Image Unavailable, Please Login
Meanwhile right side pipe and rear header are regular crunchy steel, I'll have to deal with that someday as its ugly and corroded Image Unavailable, Please Login
Now because it's me and I never catch a break, the pipe came with no mounts, just two holes and way extra long bolts to go in them. I decided not to build a bracket that bolts to a bracket to bolt to another bracket, I elected to just make some tabs and weld direct. You know race car stuff. There's not a lot of adjustability in this muffler so I feel it hangs a couple inches to low, went for it anyway just to go drive it tonight and burn out the newness sound. Upon getting home I'm definitely cutting it back apart and moving pipes at upward angle Image Unavailable, Please Login
In conclusion, I blasted around for about an hour, started snowing, the sound went from wuss to puss, and now it's a steady Ferrari sound. While I had the muffler out I noticed missing nuts for motor mount and header. Never a dull moment and I'm still sore I'm fixing problems everyone else just lived with
There was no noticeable power difference but it doesn't matter since I have the fastest car on the forum
Logged a new problem, I've switched over to driving the old man full time, I'm trying to kill it so I don't feel bad when it's time to butcher it, destroy the value, make myself happy. So I'm out driving today in heavy rain and hit the wipers, intermittent.... the stereo is blasting "my way" by ol blue eyes when smoke starts pouring out of the column, great. Shut off the wipers, then thinking I need to get back on that horse I click full on, no troubles no smoke. Hit intermittent aaaaand nothing, unless I barely touch wiper stalk then it works. I'm thinking whatever decided to suicide the car must've melted some solder connection. So add that to the list of redo. I'm now willing to trade it for an unlicensed 360 challenge or a pile of 911's (poorshh) Image Unavailable, Please Login
No matter how much you abuse her, unless she is totaled in a car wreck or fire, there will always be someone who will want to buy her and restore her to her old glory. She's a GTS QV, right? They only made 3,042 of those. Somewhere out there, there is someone dying to get his wrenches on her. She will always have some value.
