I have hagerty and several of my friends have chubb I think Hagerty is a little more expensive I know Chubb give a discount once you reach 10 cars which I don't have 10 cars so I don't know if Hagerty gives you a discount or not. The reason why I like Hagerty is because they are or at least present themselves as car guys who own an insurance company. Not an insurance company that will insure classics. I think you will get better treatment and understanding of having to use factory original parts if your car were to get in an accident. Chubb may not understand that having a factory bumper is much more important than getting a reproduction bumper. Or quality of say chrome plating... or getting the proper grain of leather etc... I "think" the devil is in the details. But... like I said... I have hagerty and have no experience with chubb
Hagerty probably more expensive. I have found hagerty to be hassle free in many ways. You fix where you want using the parts you want, and they dont chisel or hassle with inexperienced asessors.
Chubb's coverage costs less. No deductible. Repair your car at your choice of shop and using factory parts. Sounds a lot like the other carrier.
I have been using Hagerty for the past 8 years and have had a good experience. Fortunately I have never filed a claim, however, they do have excellent customer service and are very knowledgable.
I have my f cars on my home auto umbrella policy with AIG The rates and agreed values were set I believe it is less than hag quoted When car policies are attached to homeowner you always do better What is the down side of this?
AIG Private client group is the best. Chubb is good as well. Hagerty too. All three are great. If I had to rate them Top dog - AIG Private Client Group Second - hargerty. They are under written by encompass Three - Chubb R
American collectors based in NJ has been excellent for me for the last 8 years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
After 11 years with Hagerty I dropped them this year and now have 5 of my collector cars insured with Grundy instead, the saving is approx. $1,200 per year. Hagerty's service has declined over the years but their prices haven't.
Hagerty was fine for me. I too appreciated the 'car guy' approach. (They even published an article on my Pantera.) Then one day they dropped coverage on the Ford GT, left me to go scramble for another carrier, which lead me to Chubb. I guess they must've had some significant FGT claims, but when they dropped me, Chubb presented the 'whole package' of coverage, which was significantly less, so I dropped Hagerty.
