You cannot go wrong with the padron 1926 or 1964 or the family anniversaries ($$). May I make a suggestion? Drop RP off your list for the Tatuaje black label petit lancero.
I actually forgot to mention that I added Tatuaje onto the list but really feel I should give RP another chance. I felt the previous cigar was way to dry. I'm spending most of my night review Thomson Cigars and Cigar Aficionado Top 25 of 2012. My praising of Nat Sherman is not alone as the timeless cigar is ranked in 10th place. I'm looking to add about 10 pairs that will be part chosen and part on the spot if something catches my eye.
You can not go wrong with Padron or Fuente in my opinion. For the Fuente, I wouldn't spend the big bucks for the high price lines like Opus X. I think just about any Padron anniversary series will blow away any Opus. I really like the 8-5-8 from Fuente. One of my regular smokes. Just had one last weekend in fact! If you are on a strict budget look for the Padron Anniversary series in #6 or maybe the 26 or 64 sampler pack. The sampler should be less then $100 for either series and will be 4 or 5 sticks. I'm not huge on RP either but I do like the decade torpedo as a regular smoke. Alec Bradley might be another brand to think about. Some good smokes although I'm not really well informed on many of the lines. If you really want something a bit different, but one I like a lot, take a look at G.A.R. Should be reasonably priced at around $5 per no matter what size. I'm partial to the torpedo (Rico grande) myself. Good luck and let us know what you pick up!! I'm heading out with friends in a couple hours and have stocked up my herf-a-dor with a few stick. I'm thinking I'm going to give a La Gloria Cubana Serie N a try tonight. Might be a bit on the bold side for my taste but I still want to try one.
I did try the La Gloria Cubana Serie "N". It was a bit stout for my taste but a nice smoke. Nice draw and burn. I could see lighting one up occasionally when I want something a bit more robust.
You want robust, you should try the R series... Minimum 2 hour smoke! You need to lay down afterwards .
Like a kid in a candy store! Very happy with the purchase and I look forward to smoking them. Sadly they did not have any Padron in-stock besides the *000 series. I enjoyed a Fuente Flor Fina 8-5-8 while selecting the cigars to bring home. 5 x Davidoff White Edition 2 x Funete Double Chateau Fuenta 4 x Nat Sherman Timeless (2 Hermos, 2 Churchill) 1 x Romeo Y Julieta Romeo Toro 2 x Oliva Serie V Belicoso 2 x H. Nice selections. You'll enjoy the Toranos too. Great smoke. Enjoy them!! Supposed to be the last decent weather we have for awhile so I grabbed an Alec Bradley 1997 Harvest Selection to try out. 1/4 of the way in so far and I like it. Not sure i like it as much as a Prensado but still nice. And a pretty perfect evening sitting out on the deck. Might just start a fire and spend a few hours out here!!
Torano was spur of the moment as I was checking out. They didn't have any Tateuno black label you suggested nor did they have inventory of the older padron sticks. Still think I got a nice list and am looking forward to trying the Opus X for the first time and enjoying a white edition again!
You got a very nice list!! The Opus X are great cigars. You will like them. Like I mentioned if they would have had any Padron anniversary I would take them over an Opus any day. Just as good a cigar if not better for usually a bit less money. If you want a HUGE cigar pick up a Torano Exodus 50 year BFC. Better have a substantial dinner and a several nice glasses of whiskey/scotch on hand though!! I couldn't finish one the first time I tried it. Wore me out!
Hey guys, have not posted here in a while but wanted to give you a heads up that you can get a steal on boxes of Cigar Afficionados Cigar of the year at Cigarplace.biz. Flor De Las Antillas Toro - Cigar Place I'm a padron guy (just got a box of Fam reserve 45's) and smoke 2000 maduros daily, but this cigar from Pepin Garcia is a nice change of pace and is a fantastic smoke.
This made for a nice combo yesterday with my brother. He smoked the Artuero Fuenta Chateau and this, IMO, blew that out of the water. Very nice long burn for the size of the cigar with a fairly easy pull. Had some nice flavours but not overpowering at all. Image Unavailable, Please Login

I wanted to snag this one on my latest trip but they were sold out as well.[/QUOTE] Even at full price, I'd say these are great cigars.
Headed to the beach house to have a scotch and a cigar with one of my oldest and best clients. Taking these with me. Ramon Allones Churchill and a Cohiba Siglo VI. Will have either a Macallan 12 scotcch or Col. EA Taylor small batch bourbon. And. of course, some salty breeze. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Which one? My friends and I are doing a cigar/scotch night and I will be enjoying a Davidoff White Edition or Opus X.
On my last third of a Padron 1926 #1 Natural. I think I have a new favorite morning smoke. It is also my favorite afternoon and evening smoke too...LOL
